General information only — this guide explains how Linqer works and sensible habits for UK founders. It is not legal advice on advertising disclosures, platform terms, or data protection. Read each network's rules before you share links commercially.

Quick answers about Linqer for UK founders — credits, privacy, limits, and how Linqer differs from posting links in comment threads.

Is Linqer free?

Yes. Accounts start with 10 credits. There is no paid credit pack in the current release.

How many links can I add?

Three active promotions per account. Delete or overwrite to change them.

Is my email public?

No. Only your nickname, link content, and destination URLs appear publicly. See the Privacy Policy.

Can I change my nickname?

Yes — dashboard → Public profile → save.

How do I hide from the leaderboard?

Same screen: uncheck leaderboard opt-in. Nickname still shows on shared links in the feed.

How do credits work?

+1 when you complete sharing another member's link (once per link). +3 when someone clicks your tracking link, deduplicated per visitor per 24 hours.

Can I share my own links for credits?

No. Credits come from sharing others' links. Your own promotions earn clicks when others share them.

What platforms can I share to?

Copy, X/Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook, and Reddit buttons are built in. You can paste manually elsewhere if you follow that platform's rules.

Does Linqer host my website?

No. Visitors go to your URL via /r/ tracking links. Preview images may be cached on Linqer.

Are videos allowed?

Short uploads up to five seconds, or use a preview image. Long videos should stay on YouTube with the YouTube URL as the destination.

What if meta fetch fails?

Type title and caption manually. Ensure the URL is public HTTPS. Private IPs and localhost are blocked.

How is queue order decided?

Owner credits, tag overlap with the reviewer, and how many times the link was already shared. Higher-credit owners tend to appear earlier.

Can I reset skipped links?

Review reset clears skips and unfinished approvals for your account; completed shares remain.

Is this legal advice or ASA guidance?

No. Disclose promotional relationships when platforms or UK rules require it.

How do I delete my account?

Contact MicroBiz365 via the contact page — account deletion is handled on request per the privacy policy.

What data does Linqer store about clicks?

Hashed IP, truncated user agent, timestamp, and share ID — not raw IP addresses in logs intended for display. Used for credit awards and abuse prevention.

Can I use Linqer for affiliate links?

Only if the destination is relevant and you disclose affiliate relationships where required. Members skip obvious unrelated affiliate spam.

Does Linqer work outside the UK?

The app is global; MicroBiz365 guides are UK-oriented. Platform disclosure rules depend on your country.

Why do I need a public nickname?

Reciprocal sharing is social. Members need a label for who shared what — nicknames avoid exposing email addresses. Pick something professional or playful, not personally identifying unless you want it to be.

What happens if I opt out of marketing email?

You still get core account functionality. Marketing opt-in is separate from privacy policy acceptance at registration.

Can two people share one account?

Accounts are single-user. Shared logins break attribution for credits and shares — use separate accounts for separate brands.

Is there an API?

Not in the current MVP. Submit links and shares through the web UI only.

Why UK micro-businesses care about link sharing

Companies House registrations for one-person companies and side hustles continue to grow. Many founders launch with under £300 — the MicroBiz365 thesis — and cannot afford agency retainers. Reciprocal tools fill the gap between "post once on LinkedIn" and "run Meta ads". They work when participants treat them as professional networking, not broadcast television.

If you already use GOV.UK guidance for invoicing or set-up, you know official sources matter for compliance. Linqer is neither official nor regulated — it is a community utility. Keep that framing when you explain it to customers or partners.

Tracking links and click quality

Every approved share generates a unique path under /r/ on the Linqer app. When a visitor clicks, Linqer logs a hashed IP and truncated user agent, awards +3 credits to the sharer (subject to 24-hour deduplication), and opens the destination in a new tab. The intermediate page stays on Linqer so the click is counted before redirect.

This is not enterprise analytics — you will not see funnels or cohort charts. You will see whether real people clicked, which is enough to compare captions and offers when combined with your own Google Analytics or Plausible on the destination site.

Do not try to game clicks with automated scripts. Rate limits and dedupe exist to protect Linqer members. Inflated numbers would break queue fairness.

Privacy: nicknames, email, and the leaderboard

When you register on Linqer you choose a public nickname (3–24 characters) and accept the Privacy Policy. Your email is used for login and optional marketing only if you opted in — it is never shown on the public feed or leaderboard.

Link previews, titles, captions, and destination URLs are public by design: other members need to see what they are sharing. If you are uncomfortable with a URL being visible, do not submit it.

You can change your nickname or opt out of the leaderboard anytime in your dashboard under Public profile. Opting out removes you from rankings but your links can still appear in the feed when you have credits in the queue.

How credits and queue priority work

Credits are the fairness engine behind Linqer. New accounts start with 10 credits. You earn +1 when you complete a share for another member's link (once per link). You earn +3 when someone clicks the tracking link you posted — because clicks are harder than copy-paste and closer to real traffic.

Queue ordering uses owner credits plus tag overlap and how many times a link has already been shared. Members who contribute more tend to see their own links surface sooner. That is intentional: reciprocal communities collapse when everyone only promotes and nobody shares.

Credits are not money. You cannot buy them in the current release. Treat them as reputation points that keep the feed moving.
